Our Story

“Our love and passion for food is one of the things that brought us together. Every date started with a drink here, and a snack there. We always knew we wanted to start our own venture, but were waiting for the right space, the right time and the right idea. After spending 2 weeks touring Italy on our honeymoon we knew that whatever we did, the concept had to be Italian-inspired. The sense of family, sharing and celebration in Italian food is something we love, and the way we love to enjoy our meals. The name was inspired by a song we heard on repeat during our honeymoon.”

“We want to create a restaurant that celebrates the idea of sharing good food and drinks with family and friends. But sustainability is key for us. Dean’s focus is always on sourcing the best produce and making the most of it using a variety of techniques including fermentation, preserving and curing, always respecting the environment as well as creating a minimal waste nose-to tail attitude amongst our team. We like to work closely with our suppliers and nurture loyal relationships ensuring everyone in the Celentano’s supply chain shares our mindset.”

“We’ve absolutely loved living in London and experiencing London life but we have always felt drawn back to Glasgow and it’s vibrancy. We feel so lucky to have this opportunity in the city. Cathedral House is the perfect fit for Celentano’s with it’s amazing interior, but relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We can’t wait to share our passion with you.”
