FAQs

We do have a bar counter, but do take reservations for food here so can’t always guarantee space. We suggest to give us a call on the day of your booking to find out how busy we are! If we have space, we would love for you to come for a drink before your meal.

We don’t need advanced notice for this, unless you have any special requests!

We make our own gluten free bread and pasta. We try to cater to all other allergies as much as possible, but do appreciate some advanced notice. You can make a note when you make your reservations

Yes we do! It offers bread, pasta and a dessert. We recommend for up to age 12 max.

For rooms, we have a travel cot but require at least 48 advanced notice for this. Children 3+ are charged at £25 per night.

We allow small well-behaved dogs in the restaurant but ask that they remain on leads close to your table.

We don’t allow dogs or any other animals in the rooms.

We have an absolutely no smoking policy in our restaurant, rooms and our garden.

We are a small independent business and rely on customers honouring their bookings. For the restaurant, we require card details to secure bookings. We don’t take a deposit but there is a charge for cancellations with less than 24 hours-notice, or no shows. The charge is £25pp. We appreciate plans can change, so if you contact us and we can change your reservation to a later date we will of course do so.

For the rooms, payment is taken 48 hours in advance. After this, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund.

All our rooms are single or double occupancy. We do have one room that can be made into a twin room. We cannot cater to more than 2 adults in a room. 

We don’t require a minimum stay – guests are welcome to stay for one or more nights.

All our rooms include breakfast. You will find some items in your rooms already, ready for you to enjoy the next day. Other items are delivered to your room in the morning. Breakfast is all made by our chefs and includes, yoghurt, a seasonal compote, granola, fruit, sourdough bread, cheese and a sweet treat. You will have a cafetière and tea bags in your room. If you have any dietaries, please do let us know the night before.

You are welcome to bring your breakfast to our upstairs dining room if you prefer. This is open Wednesday – Sunday from 9 until 1030am. This is self-service, but some of our team will be around should you require any assistance.

We don’t offer room service, other than the breakfast.

In your room you will find Laura Thomas toiletries, a hairdryer, complimentary coffee and tea and fresh milk in the fridge. 

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the B listed building, all of our rooms are up sets of stairs and we therefore cannot offer alternative accessibility for those with mobility issues. If you have questions, please contact us via email.

If you are staying with us, you will receive an email 48 hours in advance with all information regarding check in. We operate on a self-check in basis, but our restaurant team are always on hand during opening hours should you require further assistance. 

Check in is from 3pm and check out if 11am. If you require a late check out, please contact us in advance and we will accommodate if we have availability. 

You are welcome to leave bags with our restaurant team, but please note our opening/ closing times for collection.

There is on street parking on Cathedral Square, you will need to download an app called Ringo to park here and pay via the app on arrival. For longer stays, the nearest multi storey car park is Duke Street Car Park.

Should any damages or theft be made to the property by guests during their stay, guests are fully liable and will be charged to cover the costs.
